Day 2
We woke up for Day 2 of Oculus Connect 3 excited for the Opening Keynote. (Read about OC3 Opening Day here) We sat with our friend Shuhei Yoshida as we waited for the Opening Oculus Keynote to start. We chatted about the team growth and the heavy snow during Bend’s winters. I won’t go into to much detail about the keynote, but I will say VR is about the change the world. (Something I’m sure you already know.)

We adjourned to the lunchroom before the afternoon lectures. We saw other developer’s projects and showed off our VRpeggio tech demo. You can watch it here.

Oculus Showroom
Before I headed to the next talk, I explored the Oculus Showroom. My timing was great, and I as was able to demo Lone Echo by Ready At Dawn while it didn’t have a line. I didn’t win the game, but the experience was fun.

Later in the afternoon, Justin and Jeff were pulled away to finish some quick fixes for Proton Pulse. I went to the more talks, including Ambisonic Sound and WebVR Code.

Cymatic Bruce and Vanguard V Demos
I regrouped with the team and bumped into Cymatic Bruce while he waited in line to try Medium. Justin and Bruce discussed his level in Pulsar Arena and Level 2 of Vanguard V.

Later, we set up our MSI Lap Top for Reverend Kyle to test. We turned some heads, and OliverJT from Synthesis Universe and Jan Goetgeluk from Virtuix Omni tested it as well. We received more constructive feedback, which we’re steadily applying for the best gameplay experience.

If you don’t listen to Kent Bye on his podcast, Voices of VR, I strongly advise you find time in your day to listen. You can listen to his thoughts on Oculus Connect 3 on his website.

I didn’t get the change to photograph the Closing Reception, because I was too busy eating their delicious food. I did get introduced to Churroboros Studio in San Francisco. We’re looking forward to seeing their upcoming game Velocibeast and visiting their studio.
It was certainly the busiest day for us at Oculus Connect 3. Once again, we got back to the hotel late that night with an early start in the morning. You can read about the recap on Closing Day tomorrow!
